Why it's Worth the Expense of Buying Things Pre-Assembled

A month or two ago (yes I am somewhat behind in my blogging I admit it) my mum popped up on a Sunday afternoon. The boys were thrilled to see she had not only brought Grandad Fred with her but also a trampoline (or tampoween as Eli pronounces it in his slightly Chinese accent) of their very own.

1 trampoline,

2348 pieces,

Some pretty vague instructions,

1 missing piece,

1 faulty bolt,

4 adults,

1 severely blistered and bleeding finger,

1 potential heart attack,

1 possible hernia,

1 angry outburst,

Several red faces,

A couple of short fuses,

2 excited boys,

A few hours longer than we anticipated.........

Totally worth it!

so cute!

I am a HUGE fan of pre-assembly aka me not doing it.

we had a trampoline as a kid and we LOVED it! I do remember my mom and dad being pretty frustrated when they were setting it up as well.

the boys will have hours of fun on their new "tampoween" I'm sure!

tee hee! yes - but think of what the "shipping/delivery" charges would have been on that thing! btw, where's the pic of the injured finger?

That looks so much fun. I am SOOOO not going to show my boys these pictures until we have one, too. I would never hear the end of it.

You lost me at 2348 pieces. I totally would have hired help out for that.

The boys look to love it though :)

Fantastic. Is Rob going to customise it with another slide and basin of water?

Looks fun....I mean the boys jumping. NOT all the work. I am always the one to beg the salespeople if I can have the floor model.

oh, i so would have given up, but the boys look very happy:)

I think I'd have a heart attack just letting them play on it! Yeah, those things scare me a little.

On a side note, I LOVE puzzles and putting things together is usually no problem for me as long as I have the directions (and no kids around).

I love it!!! I am glad your boys like it so much. "Santa" is bringing my kids one - we have already ordered it!

I agree...totally worth it. They love it.

Is it weird that I like to put stuff together? Because I like the challenge.
