I Blame That Geoffrey Giraffe

Recently we hit Toys R Us (Thomas pronounces it Toys R arse which always makes me chuckle because the A word is tres naughty here) with the kids in tow.

Knowing fully well that leaving toy-less would result in complete hysteria from our offspring.

Thomas chose a Ninja Turtle and Eli a Fire Engine, Police Car and Ambulance Combo.

Hysteria avoided.

But then he saw this:
The Hot Wheels Shark Park.

It was half price.

He started using words like awesome, car munching action and dare I say it? Flying Pizza.

I did my best to discourage the purchase but he had his heart set on it.

Oh and when I say he I'm not referring to Thomas or Eli.

I am referring to Rob.

Apparently boys never grow up.

hahahaha...."car-munching action", that's hilarious! Pat's the same way, I bought a Hot Wheels stunt track for Abby's friend's b'day & Pat kept commenting on how cool it was. Maybe Santa needs to bring him one too.

But we wouldn't really want them to now would we? That is what makes a great dad. =)

And I've found that the older the younger ones get...the younger the older one gets. Amazing how that works!

You should've tried to divert his attention with the use of a lollipop. I use it on the kids - works a treat. I haven't used it on the older, male variety, but i would imagine it may have worked too. Chuppa chups rule.

Nope, boys don't. I had the hardest time shopping for Christmas this year because Eric kept stopping next to all the "boy" toys to admire. I had to remind him that we were looking for pink princess shoes, and ponies.

No, they don't grow up. Nerf guns for all the boys. It can keep them busy for hours. All of them.

since there are 11 other comments above me little eyes probably won't read this far, so a Christmas past story that was funny at the time and still reminds me of boys and their toys. Probably 20 years ago one toy that was very big at the time was the "helicopter rescue" game, it consisted of a battery powered helicopter that was on a tether that circled round and around that with controls you could increase speed and elevation even hover once you got good enough. The goal was to use the little hook suspended from the helicopter to lift and rescue a stranded plastic person from imminent doom. It was too big to wrap up so it stayed hidden from prying eyes until all the little ones went to sleep then was brought out to "make sure it worked" as my brother-in-law said. We were having a big family party with kids, spouses and grand kids at Grandma's house in sunny southern California that year. Seems that all the "boys" had to check it out so as to be able to assist the kids in being able to rescue the hapless plastic person, in fact much of the night was spent from say 11PM until around 0400 AM making sure that it worked the way it was suppose to. So when 2 hours rolled around and all the kids woke up (I always wondered why my parents were so tired when I woke up from Christmas after having gone to bed at 6PM Christmas Eve) The kids immediately fell in love with the toy, but to our dismay after only about 5 minutes of play it stopped working??? My brother-in-law being the fix it type immediately went to work finding the problem. He found that the batteries had been all used up? His excuse to the kids was that Santa used military batteries since he being in the Air Force at the time used them for everything. A quick change of batteries and the game was going again. So when things don't always work look to the Dad (big boy at heart)to find out why.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year. From Utah and about 8 inches of fresh powdery snow Terry
