Why Boys are All Identical

Yesterday Eli and I had a little chat about best friends in which he informed me that Nanny was his best friend and so was his wilbsy. (Wilbsy is Siswick speak for boy parts).

In the days BPT (before Potty training) I was unfortunately changing Eli's nappy. He made sure to give his wilbsy a good old squeeze and poke just to make sure it hadn't fallen off in the last couple of hours since his last nappy change.

I guess boys think such things are possible.

He looked up to me with the biggest grin on his cheeky face and said, "Mummy I love my wilbsy!"

Yep, you and everyone else on the planet with a XY chromosome combination, son.

The joys of being a mother to boys!

But at least he's honest.

Cracks me up how little boys pick up on that so fast!

I'm pretty sure my husband does the same thing.

Oh SO true! Austin is obsessed with his parts too. I have so many funny stories. He is constantly asking people what parts they have and there is certainly a love affair present.

Um, first of all, Jennie's comment made me laugh out loud! As did your post.

I am so thankful to know that it's not just my boy that is obsessed. And being potty trained has made it 50 times worse!!!

Is there an invisible magnet or something?

Emma sent me your way, hello!

It only gets worse the older they get. I've got a 15 year-old... I believe it may be the only thing that consumes his thought processes most of the time. Well... his parts and food.

Oh yes, as soon as my boys could move and grab things, it immediately became their favorite thing. I have no idea how it doesn't hurt, they pull it so hard!

That is hilarious! And so so true. Even my four year old daughter has noticed how often men have to touch themselves. I told her it was just to adjust, but we all know that part of it is to pay homage to a dear friend.

Wilsby, huh? I've never heard that one before. Too funny. :)

I think I may overdose on wilbsy.

I think RObbie loves his too much and too often.

I knew it was just naturally in the DNA when my baby boy grabbed his at 6 months. Now at almost two, he sings songs about "pee-pee."

funny! yeah - it's cute when they are little. but i knew this kid in high school that grabbed his "wilsby" all the time. finally one time i asked him why the need to "check his package" and so blatantly at that. he told me in his male-egotistical way that it was so HUGE that he had to "shift". I retorted, "Oh - I thought perhaps because it was so SMALL that you wanted to make sure it was still there!"

yes - boys! at least yours is honest.
