Let Me Educate You

What do the following pictures of models that Thomas created at nursery clearly have in common?

Well quite obviously they are all speedboats.

What?

You didn't get that?

Don't worry me either, but Thomas has kindly overlooked my stupidity and corrected me (with sheer disgust) so it's only polite for me to do the same for you.

Eilidh used to bring stuff like that home all the time. At first I was precious about it, then as it started to accumulate, I wondered when was an appropriate time til I could throw the stuff out...

THough maybe I'd have felt differntly is she'd made a couple of speedboats...

What? You couldn't tell those were speedboats? What's wrong with you?
Just kidding. Don't you just love the preschool years?

I was going to say, "they are all made from trash"! Clearly I am such a grown up!

I guess I need to start thinking twice before I throw things away. My kids would love to do this!

Those are certainly some imaginative speedboats. I can't wait until my house is littered with such beautiful creations. Wait...I didn't mean littered I meant beautifully decorated.

see.. I had three daughters .. I had the built in excuse as to why I didnt recognize thier efforts for what they were .. I was, after all, a guy .. and what guy would ever have any idea what creations came from the minds of girls .. I mean .. really ..
Then when they were dating I had to do the turn around thing and convince them that Dad's do in fact, know everything ..

Fortunately (for us and them) God is watching as well ..

I think Thomas just became one of my favorite people.

He has a true vision!

And a few random boxes are like magic . . .

that, and squinting really, really hard. My word, those are speedboats!!!

New to your blog, but I played 'catch-up' and really enjoyed it! I still don't see the same things my 5 yo sees in his artwork. :(

I would refer you to "love to brag" Becca's blog on steering wheels. My first guess is that Thomas loves boats of any kind, just like our Ben loves cars and most especially BMW's. The boy can pick them out of a satellite photo from 100 miles away. Its a boy thing and they seem to specialize, boats, tractors, cars, etc.
Any time you want to see sunshine feel free to come visit, gas was down to 3.48/gal. As an added plus you could set in the conference center and see conference (but that is the two times a year you can plan on stormy weather) Terry

He and my oldest could be brothers.

Well, in a non-related, not-really-brothers sort of way.

He does this with pretty much any empty container, begging me to give it to him for one of his ideas.
