Just to Clarify.....

This is simply what I am trying to tell the world,Elizabeth & Jessica Wakefield (Thank you Wikipedia for assisting me when my brain sadly failed me): The Sweet Valley Twins
Joel and Benji Madden: The Good Charlotte Bad Boy Twins
Mary-Kate and Ashley: The Disgustingly Stunning and Twig-like Olson Twins
Fred and George: The Ginger Weasley TwinsSchwarzenegger & DeVito: The anything is possible in Hollywood Twins
Thomas and Eli: The most definitely NOT Twins

Not even Irish twins (Who do you think we are Britney and K-Fed?)

Just brothers spaced 16 months apart.

Apparently this fact isn't glaringly obvious!

(Now I just have to figure out how to get this entire post onto an endless supply of T shirts so that I don't have to answer that mundane question a gazillion times each day!)

OH this was too funny! Our kids are 17 months apart, but thanks to them being boy and girl, still look different enough! :)

Cute post!

AMEN. I cannot tell you how many times I have been asked if our two oldest girls are twins. And they too are 17 months apart. Even now, they are 6 and (almost)5, we still get asked everytime we are out if they are twins. They don't look alike (to my thinking anyway) and yet we still are asked. Alas...if only we could make the twin t-shirt fashioned after this post, i would GLADLY invest.
:)
Just keep disputing. and wait until there's 2 more about the same amount apart. We're not there yet because Presley is still not quite a year, but give another 6 months and I bet we start getting asked about them too. The joy of being a mom with kids close enough in age to fool even me sometimes!

Carol,
Are Thomas and Eli twins?

Hehehe! Seriously though, how can people think they are twins??? I mean they share similar traits, but they certainly don't look like twins to me!

You think that's bad, one time someone asked me if my mother and I were twins!!! My mother, of course was very flattered, thinking that she looked nice and young, and I was horrified (I was 16 at the time) thinking that this person must think that I looked REALLY old! ;)

Ha! Either they look like twins, or people think they have 2 different dads! You should just have a few sets of shirts made for when you go out that say "No, we're not twins, and yes we have the same dad!"

They don't really look anything alike either. Maybe people just are trying to start up conversation because you look like the kind of person they want to be friends with.

And you're all bitter about it. Sad.

I kind of think you are lucky! Matty and Carter look totally opposite from each other....Matty looks like me and my husband. However, Carter is every recessive gene in our gene pool! And consequently, the jokes always begin with..."What does your mailman look like?"

haha! also the bane of my existance! my sister is 16 months older than me, and where i'm dark, she's fair. me: brown hair. brown eyes. olive skin. 6'1" Michelle: dirty blonde, hazel eyes, fair skin. 5'9"

and my whole life: ARE YOU GUYS TWINS?!

...no.

Personally, I do not think they look like twins at all. Adorable, but not twins.

But Elizabeth and Jessica of Sweet Valley High sure bring back memories. I had no idea they were still around, much less on DVD.

I bet you could shrink the pics down enough to fit on t's!
LOVE it! I can't believe that people really think they're twins. I know that my sister is going to be going through the same thing with her girls as they get older. Based on the recent u/s I think they are going to look a lot alike...and they're only going to be 14 months apart.

How about taking care of two 4 year olds AND two one year old kiddos. People are always staring at me, two sets of twins? And no, they don't look alike at all, just the same size.

I totally feel your pain...

I had to look up Irish twins. Am I a dork or what?

People are weird. They comment on everything.

I'm sure I would get tired of it after a while, but I think it's hilarious when ppl see me w/ my girls and my nieces (4,3,3,1) & me, 9 months pregnant.

Oh the freedom people think they have to comment!

Ah man, Alisha stole my comment.
I thought I was going to be really funny and ask, "so are your boys twins?" bwahahaha. But it's been done. I'm still thinking of a witty comment. So, I'll be back later. :)

We have always had the opposite problem with my twin sisters, they look nothing alike (eli and thomas look related at least, one of my sisters is the only one with blonde hair and blue eyes in the whole family) People are very suprised to find out that they are twins. Kate is about 8 inches taller and they look so different. I bet I would ask if Eli and Thomas were twins if I didn't know differently.

Some crazy people would ask if my two older boys were twins, um no, they are 3 years apart.

You need matching shirts that say "not this kid's twin."

Thanks for stopping by. Your boys are gorgeous. People used to say that about my sister and I and we are three years apart - go figure.

The twins are so cute! Just kidding, but they really are cute.
I guess all extremes are annoying. I took my six month old to the doctor's office and a nurse asked her, referring to my 2 year old, "Oh, you brought your friend with you?" I guess that is what happens when you have a red head and a brunette.

Oh how I loved those Sweet Valley books. I really don't think that your boys look like twins, but they are super cute.

My sister and I are 16 months apart and I guess we *do* look pretty similar, so we got the twin question all our lives, too. But it really didn't bother us too much. Well, not me, anyway! Maybe people are just curious because it's clear they're practically the same age; after all, they could theoretically be fraternal twins. If they weren't brothers 16 months apart, I mean. ;)

Great idea!

I am new to your blog so I was wondering where you were going with this. I can't believe you brought up Sweet Valley High!!

You're right - last ones NOT twins!! Some idiot asked me if my boys were twins the other day. They are 3 years apart... crazy people!
